What does the DGT have to say about dogs in the car?

There are many urban legends about what happens if the police stop us whilst carrying a dog loose in the car, does it incur a fine??? Does the driver lose points??? What does the law say?.

A few days ago I went to a vet and the manager suggested I buy a special harness for the car since this week the civil guard had been placing patrols outside schools fining all individuals carrying unharnessed dogs inside their vehicles. Due to the warning and to also avoid a fine, I bought my dog its special harness for the car, I didn’t have one since I always thought that a small dog would not need it as it always travels in its carrier.

The Rules of the road in Articles 18.1 and 3.1 indicate that:

Being a natural product, without extruding and without preservatives, is very sensitive to heat and humidity. So we sent in 24-48 hours to all Spain in thermo-protective boxes to maintain its freshness and actual expiration.
