Dogs are living beings that get happy, sad, feel fear, frustration, jealousy, etc. Despite what many may believe, THEY HAVE FEELINGS, and a wide range of them. We can see that our dog may have both positive and negative emotions.

Some people believe that their behavior is either a product of instinct or of conditioning, which are the result of learned emotions. It is a fact that the movement of tail and ears, as well as facial expressions, body posture and even wailing, barking or grunts, will allow us, interpreting them properly, to know exactly what our dog feels.

However, they do not show these instinctive behaviors indiscriminately, it is they who decide when and to whom they are directed. This ability involves a rudimentary degree of intelligent reasoning, even when these demonstrations are used to influence and even "manipulate" their owners in order to get attention, food or a walk.

With this in mind, do not attempt to teach it to do impossible tricks, or make it face unfamiliar situations by surprise, or ask him to act against his instincts…follow these golden rules and you will have the best of companions!

Gandhi said "we know the degree of civilization of a nation by how it treats its animals"

If we all commit, maybe one day we can see future generations increasingly "civilized".
