What animal is more closely attached to us than our dog?

As incomparable and faithful as they come, dogs offer their loyalty and their company, defend us from dangers, distract us from boredom, work for us, walk with us, their spirit of service is also their biggest desire. They share pains and joys and accompany us. They guide the blind, rescue the helpless, protect cattle, and a myriad of other things that make our lives easier and above all, happier.

All through the ages, dogs have been regarded as a pen of our celebrities, Plato called them "The most philosophical world creature," Michelet defined them as a "Candidate for humanity", St. Ambrose says "Dogs are unique when it comes to remembering benefits and forgiving the wrongs that we infer ", Byron, in an epitaph dedicated to his puppy wrote:

"You dog, you are the best of animals. The first to come and greet us, the most determined when defending us, the most faithful to our mandate, is you." We could go on quoting great men like Gandhi, Cervantes, etc..

It's time we start consolidating and study our dogs in order to know them better and to teach others to love such a noble and dear friend and by extension, nature in general, particularly, humanity.
